Palestinian-American Adolescent Released After Nine-Month Period in Israeli Custody

A Palestinian-American teenager having endured 270 days in imprisonment by Israel without charge has been freed.
The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim was fifteen years old when he was arrested last February within the occupied West Bank, during a family visit from his Florida home accused of stone-throwing toward Israeli settlers, claims he consistently denied.
United States authorities expressed satisfaction with the news of Mohammed's release.
Mohammed, now 16, required hospitalization upon gaining freedom, family members reported.
Family described him as showing signs of malnutrition, while battling health issues developed during imprisonment.
Through an official statement, Mohammed's uncle spoke of the family's "immense relief".
Family member Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" over the last nine months.
"Currently, we are focused on ensuring Mohammed receives urgent medical care necessary for his recovery after being subjected to mistreatment by authorities and cruel circumstances for months."
US officials stated they would maintain to provide consular support for the Ibrahim family.

Several congressional representatives submitted a formal letter to the state department and the White House, demanding more be done to release him.
The father, parent of four children managing a frozen treats business in Florida, previously claimed his child admitted guilt regarding stone throwing due to physical abuse.
There were no visits or spoken to Mohammed following the detention, and only heard regarding the treatment through judicial records.
Mohammed was held lacking indictment at Ofer detention facility throughout the occupied territory.
It is also home to adult prisoners, featuring prisoners sentenced regarding severe security violations and homicide.
An estimated 350 Palestinian minors in security custody currently imprisoned in Israel, according to the Israeli Prison Service.
Several lack formal charges along with monitoring agencies, and international organizations, say some have suffered abuse and torture.
Subsequent to his liberation, the uncle stated the family would also continue fighting demanding accountability for their family member Sayfollah Musallet.
The 20-year-old dual US citizen per medical officials was beaten to death by settlement residents during a confrontation last July.
