Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Healing from Light Wounds
Joshua had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.
Remembering the Victims
Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”
His release from the hospital arrives after the boxing community had expressed sympathy for the fighter in the aftermath of the heartbreaking incident.
